Kyla immigrated from the Philippines to the United States with her family in 2001. She went on to study at the Robert Morris University School of Business in 2015 to pursue a BSBA with a minor in Marketing. During her years at Robert Morris, you could often find her on the rugby field, in the yearbook staff office, or exploring the beautiful city of Pittsburgh. In 2016, she transitioned from being a family caregiver for her grandmother, to becoming a professional caregiver through a home health agency. This position is where she truly found her niche in working with the aging population. After moving back to Central PA in 2017, she pursued a full time career in home health services before being offered a summer internship with a small nonprofit senior community center. This opportunity allowed her to combine her interest in the nonprofit field with her love of working with the senior population. She spent two wonderful years with the organization before joining the PANO team. Kyla joined the PANO team in September 2019 and works closely with PANO members and partners as the Membership and Development Manager. She is a member of AFP Central PA Chapter, and currently serves as a committee member for the Lancaster County Suicide Prevention Coalition with MHA Lancaster.
In her free time, Kyla enjoys cuddling with her two cats, Fergie and Winston, kayaking, and learning how to cook Filipino food from her mother.
