Nonprofit Organization Membership

Who is eligible to join as an organization?

Any organization with a 501(c) designation (not just 501(c)(3)s)! You can even join as an organizational member if you are in the process of forming your nonprofit. While we cannot help with filing paperwork for your new nonprofit, we can provide help with day-to-day nonprofit questions, access to Standards for Excellence resources (which include sample policies, procedures, and other helpful templates as you are building your org from the ground up), discounted trainings, and more.

Once you become an organizational member, membership extends to all staff, board, and volunteers. For one annual fee, all staff, board members, and volunteers are invited to create their own unique login credentials for our member database once you join so that each person has access to member benefits – like discounts on trainings, free Standards for Excellence Ed Packet downloads, and more.

When can my org join and how long does our membership last?

We accept new members on a rolling basis throughout the year. Your one year of membership is good from the date of purchase through the end of that month the following year (e.g., if you join on June 10, 2025, your membership will expire on June 30, 2026, and then on June 30 every year thereafter that you continue to be a member).

How much does it cost?

Membership dues are calculated according to your organization’s annual operating budget (minus any funds you may grant to other organizations):

  • Budget under $50K – $110
  • $51K-$199,999 – $131
  • $200K-$499,999 – $220
  • $500K-$699,999 – $383
  • $700K-$999,999 – $441
  • $1M-$1,999,999 – $607
  • $2M – $4,999,999 – $709
  • $5M – $7,999,999 – $850
  • $8M – $15,999,999 – $924
  • $16M – $24,999,999 – $1,024
  • $25M – $44,999,999 – $1,155
  • $45M+ – $1,366

What are some of the benefits of joining as an organization?

PANO members consistently cite the following as the top three reasons for joining or renewing their membership:

  2. AskPANO Nonprofit Helpdesk (while all are welcome to submit questions free of charge, if a response is going to require significant research, PANO members get a 50% discount on applicable fees).

Corporate Partnership

Who is eligible to join as an Corporate Partner?

This type of membership is designed mostly for our for-profit allies (and a few nonprofits, too) who are interested in supporting PA nonprofits in some way. Corporate Partnership is a great way to do just that, allowing you to keep up with the ever-evolving needs of community benefit organizations while getting your business in front of PANO’s 1,000+ members and beyond.

When can I join and how long does my Corporate Partnership last?

We accept new Corporate Partners on a rolling basis throughout the year. Your one year of Corporate Partnership is good from the date of purchase through the end of that month the following year (e.g., if you join on June 10, 2025, your membership will expire on June 30, 2026, and then on June 30 every year thereafter that you continue to be a Corporate Partner).

How much does it cost?

Corporate Partnership dues are as follows:

  • Level 1/Basic – $300/year
  • Level 2 – $445/year
  • Level 3 – $600/year

What are some of the benefits?

PANO offers three levels of Corporate Partnership, depending on your company’s needs and interests:

  • Level 1/Basic Corporate Partner – Benefits include a listing in our Corporate Partner Directory*, inclusion in an annual email highlighting all Corporate Partners to our listserv of 11,000+ members and friends, and recognition in our Annual Report.
  • Level 2 Corporate Partner – Benefits include all Level 1 benefits, plus access to PANO member benefits (like the member rate for all programs/events and free access to Standards for Excellence Ed Packets).
  • Level 3 Corporate Partner – Benefits include all Level 1 and Level 2 benefits, plus access to a mailing list of PANO members (note: list does NOT include email addresses).

*PANO often refers inquiring nonprofit professionals to businesses listed in our Corporate Partner Directory. Additionally, being listed here can help increase your Google ranking, as our site gets 68,000+ unique visits annually.

PANO Ambassador

Who is eligible to join as an Ambassador?

This type of partnership is designed for companies that wish to demonstrate their support of PANO and PA’s nonprofit sector as a whole by underwriting programs for over 8,000 people who engage with PANO each year. More details can be found in this document.

When can I join and how long does my Ambassadorship last?

We accept new Ambassadors on a rolling basis throughout the year. Your one year of PANO Ambassadorship is good from the date of purchase through the end of that month the following year (e.g., if you join on June 10, 2025, your Ambassadorship will expire on June 30, 2026, and then on June 30 every year thereafter that you continue to be a PANO Ambassador).

How much does it cost?

Ambassador levels are as follows:

  • Level 1 – $5,000/year
  • Level 2 – $7,500/year
  • Level 3 – $10,000/year

What are some of the benefits?

PANO offers three levels of Ambassadorship, depending on your company’s needs and interests:

  • $5,000 – Benefits include your logo on the homepage of our website, a company listing in our Corporate Partner Directory, recognition in our Annual Report, access to PANO member benefits (like the member rate for all programs/events and free access to Standards for Excellence Ed Packets), access to a mailing list of PANO members (sorry, email addresses not included), and an honorable mention at all events and webinars.
  • $7,500 – In addition to the benefits offered at the $5,000 level, this comes with sponsorship of our Community Connector E-Newsletter (sent monthly to our listserv of 11,000+).
  • $10,000 – In addition to the benefits offered at both the $5,000 and $7,500 level, sponsorship of our AskPANO Nonprofit Helpdesk, special participation in our annual conference, and industry exclusivity (you will be the only ambassador from your industry).

Individual Membership

Who is eligible to join as an individual?

This type of membership is designed for those who wish to join on their own as…

  • an undergraduate or graduate student who is not (yet) affiliated with a specific nonprofit;
  • an independent consultant;
  • a retired nonprofit professional;
  • someone who is still in the process of forming a nonprofit (you are still, however, welcome to join as an organization, as you will see in the above Nonprofit Organization Membership section!);
  • someone who may be working with a smaller nonprofit for whom a full organizational membership would not be widely utilized by others.

When you join as an individual, only you will have access to member benefits (like discounted trainings, free Standards for Excellence Ed Packet downloads, and more).

When can I join and how long does my membership last?
