Dr. Buchan fell in love with volunteerism and board governance as the president of a high school community service club. Then, while working at a domestic violence shelter during college, she decided to focus her career on the nonprofit sector.
Over her 20+ year career, the last decade as a consultant, Ivy helped hundreds of organizations to engage thousands of stakeholders, develop programs and strategies that raised millions of dollars, and cultivate countless community relationships. Before consulting, she worked for organizations addressing child abuse/trauma, juvenile justice, victim services, substance use disorders, and community outreach. Ivy specializes in multi-layer collaborations, associations, foundations, research methods, and engagement strategies.
