Margie Taylor began her fundraising career at a college in crisis in 1980 when she joined the development team charged with raising a minimum of $1 million per year to keep the college’s doors open. She subsequently took leadership positions in economic development, working with businesses, federal and state governments, and financial institutions in expansion projects, financing plans (tax credits, bank loans, grants, etc.) and business development centers. She joined The Pennsylvania State University as a chief development officer, helping donors make major, planned, and transformational gifts. After retiring from Penn State University, she joined Strategy Solutions, Inc. as a senior consultant. She has held the Certified Fundraising Professional credential since 2011. She has volunteered on numerous boards with particular attention to hospital, library, historical society, and economic development groups.
