Michele Walls, CFRE, SHRM-CPMW Strategies LLC

Michele brings over two decades of experience as a trusted leader in fundraising, communications, and nonprofit management. Having raised more than $30 million for small and mid-sized organizations, she guides nonprofits across arts, education, cultural, and social justice sectors toward stability and sustainable growth.

Through MW Strategies, Michele serves as a fractional fundraising partner and development consultant for U.S.-based nonprofits with annual budgets of $250,000 to $5,000,000 and 0-10 staff, bringing senior-level fundraising leadership without the cost of a full-time hire.

Michele also guides organizations through leadership transitions and periods of change, helping nonprofits stabilize operations, maintain donor relationships, and build toward what comes next. Her services span major gifts, annual campaigns, grant writing, and transition assistance, grounded in the belief that strong relationships and clear strategy drive lasting results. She works closely with executive directors and boards to develop data-driven strategies and donor communications that support long-term sustainability.

In addition to her consulting work, Michele serves on the board of the Association of Consultants to Nonprofits. This, along with several past board roles, allows her to contribute to the broader development of the sector and stay current on nonprofit trends and practices.

A New York City native, Michele has proudly called Philadelphia home since 1999. She holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Delaware and a Master of Science in Arts Administration from Drexel University. Outside of work, she enjoys running, cooking, reading, and immersing herself in Philadelphia’s dynamic cultural scene of world-class music and sports, renowned visual arts institutions, and celebrated restaurants.
