Introducing…PANO’s Policy, Advocacy, & Action Network (PAAN)!

In 2025, interest in PANO’s statewide advocacy work reached an all-time high, with more than 40 people joining our monthly Public Policy Committee Meetings. Those meetings, however, weren’t designed for the type of engagement all those individuals were looking for when they signed up to get involved in PANO’s advocacy efforts.

Enter, PAAN.

Ok…what’s a PAAN?
PANO’s Policy, Advocacy, & Action Network (PAAN) was formed in 2026 to strengthen and advance PANO’s public policy work by serving as both an advisory body and an action arm.

• Advisory Body – PAAN provides timely information, insights, and feedback directly from nonprofits to PANO’s Public Policy Committee, informing their agenda-setting and decision-making.
• Action Arm – PAAN members help carry out approved strategies and priorities by mobilizing networks, building coalitions, and engaging in outreach efforts.

So…who can join?
Participation in PAAN is open to nonprofit professionals representing diverse regions, missions, and perspectives from across the Commonwealth. No prior advocacy experience necessary but it is helpful for PAAN participants to bring knowledge of community needs, nonprofit operations, and/or advocacy networks.

And…what exactly does it mean to “join PAAN”?
PANO asks that interested individuals commit to serving on PAAN for at least a year, during which you would…

• Join monthly PAAN meetings via Zoom – 2nd Thursday of each month, for about 60-90 minutes.
• Participate in advocacy actions, outreach efforts, and/or information-sharing, as opportunities arise.
